  • Background:

Construction of Nanaimo's new $72.5 million water treatment plant completed in December 2015. It features two stages of filtration, recovering greater than 99% of water throughput.

It is one of only two facilities in Canada to use gravity syphon instead of suction pumps to draw water through filtration membranes, significantly reducing energy consumption.

ASHRAE invites you to network with your local industry professionals and to learn more about this state-of-the-art facility! The ASHRAE Vancouver Island Chapter is sponsoring complimentary pizza and canapes at the White Sails Tap House after the tour.
